Contract Technician

Details: CONTRACT TECHNICIAN APPLICATIONS are now being accepted for the position of Contract Technician in the Maintenance Department. The starting wage is $14.24 - $16.38 per hour / DOQ. Primary Responsibilities: The Contract Technician prepares, monitors, and coordinates various types of contractual agreements. The Contract Technician completes tasks involving the procurement and contracting for a range of goods and services, such as reviewing/preparing Invitations to Bid, Request for Proposals, Request for Qualifications, and advertising schedules, progress/status reports, etc. The Contract Technician reviews all types of documents that are part of the bid or contracts including change orders, supplemental agreements, etc, for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and procurement policies and procedures. Qualifications: Must have a good knowledge Federal, State and local regulations relating to contracts and procurement including equipment procurement procedures for government agencies; Contract administration principles and practices; Contracts terminology and development; and Business communication and mathematics. Experience in Public Works contracting is a plus. Some knowledge of road construction practices and procedures, civil engineering practices and project management principles as related to contracts is preferred. Some experience in contract administration and/or procurement duties, along with graduation from a college or university with a degree Business or Public Administration or related field, is preferred. Experience in public works contracting is a plus. OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, may be acceptable.
