Details: Job Responsibilities:General Dynamics is actively seeking a talented Network Engineer to support multiple government programs.Perform enterprise networks system analysis to include voice, video, data communication. Design, development, and installation; ensures the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, survivability, and other requirements in the overall engineering effort. Selects system architecture and compliant components, defines requirements, and prepares documentation.Primary Tasks and Requirements 1. Engineering, Installation and Documentation Support of the overall (EFIT&T) tasks: Engineering, Furnishing, Installation, Testing, and end-user Training efforts of newly installed and/or refreshed Enterprise/Local Area Networks voice, video, data communication systems.2. Perform Site Surveys of existing network infrastructure to include switches, routers, wireless, phones, backup power, and copper/fiber cabling.3. Evaluate current network topologies, protocols, traffic, and future requirements, and identify any possible reuse of existing equipment.4. Actively collaborate with customer in design development.5. Ensure existing/proposed fiber plant meets network design requirements.6. Document Survey results and present proposed design to customer.7. Perform Vendor Selection (Ethernet, SONET, VoIP Solutions).8. Develop site-specific Test and Cutover plans, Network Topology drawings, IPv4 and IPv6 schemes, and Lists of Material.9. Assist in the development of new drawings and updates for wiring closets, rack elevations, floor plans, and room layouts.10. Develop and present customized training on implemented design to government students, to include Network Management Platforms, Test Equipment, troubleshooting, and sustainment actions.11. Coordinate and lead system installations, configuration, and cutover to include integration with existing voice, video, wireless and data systems.12. Ensure compliance with security and AF/DoD policies, procedures, and industry best practices.13. Assist Test Engineer in evaluation of system to include fault analysis and troubleshooting, document test results.14. Secret Clearance or ability to obtain required.15. Worldwide Mobility. Required Education:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. Required Work Experience:5-8 years of directly related experience in network analysis and administration.AutoCad and Visio experience a plus. Other Desirable Requirements:Must possess a Secret security Clearance.Must possess a current passport.Travel requirements at 50-70% or higher for 30-90 day durations
